Greek frappé was invented in 1957 at the International Trade Fair in Thessaloniki. Dimitris Vakondios was looking for a way to have his usual instant coffee during his break but he could not find any hot water, so he mixed the coffee with cold water and ice cubes in a shaker. This improvised experiment established this popular Greek beverage. Frappé has been marketed chiefly by Nestlé and is among the most popular drinks in Greece and is available at virtually all Greek cafés.

Description

NESCAFÉ has a special responsibility to ensure that everyone gets to enjoy great tasting, affordable coffee – now and in the future. Our mission is to protect the future of coffee for those who enjoy drinking it, and those who make a living growing it.

To turn this goal into reality we’ve teamed up with the Rainforest Alliance, the Sustainable Agriculture Network (SAN), and the Common Code for the Coffee Community (4C) to ensure we are following internationally-recognised sustainability standards. Across the board, NESCAFÉ is raising the standard of sustainable production at every stage of the coffee journey, from the coffee farm to the jar.
